Hideki Sensei has achieved top-level results in competitive sparring in both Japan and the United States and has been teaching karate in Japan and abroad for over 20 years.
His teaching experience spans a wide range of ages, nationalities, cultures, and competitive levels—from teaching children at dojos in Japan to coaching university karate clubs, teaching in the United States, and instructing U.S. diplomats and their families at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo.
Beyond his ability to teach in both Japanese and English, one of his greatest strengths is his deep cross-cultural understanding, developed through years of living abroad and working in international environments.
His teaching combines the authentic traditional techniques of Goju-Ryu with modern competitive karate, adapting his approach to each student’s individual personality, goals, and needs.

In 10th grade, Taka Sensei won the All Japan Junior Karate Championship, a national tournament that brought together leading dojos from across Japan. That same year, he represented Japan at an international tournament. Through this experience, he realized that succeeding on the world stage required not only karate skills but also English. This inspired him to study English on his own and seek out karate training opportunities abroad.
He helped establish the U.S. Embassy Karate Club and has continued teaching both children and adults in Japanese and English for over 20 years.
Drawing on his competitive experience and the initiative and determination that enabled him to learn English independently, he provides attentive, personalized instruction tailored to each student.
